” being close to Him is infinitely better.”

Even tho i am still a baby in my faith and i struggle a lot with being consistent about my quality time with my Father, it's only when I come before Him I feel loved, special, the happiness that nothing earthly could give me and knowing that He would never disappoint me it's infinitely better. Only being close to Him my past makes sense...my life here on earth has a meaning. It's not just the theory..it's the faith, and your faith can't be expressed by words.. it's something you have, feel.

just wanted to tell you "congrats" for everything you did for "the other nations". And giving us the chance to see how God is working through you!

Remember.. we are blessed to be a blessing!

Being close to Him creates meaning for why I exist. It puts depth into my breaths and rest into the innermost workings of my soul. It allows for a deeper motivation to genuinely care for other people.

I don't know truly how to fully explain it in words, but comparing it to life without him shows in itself why life close to him is good. Because life without him made me depressed, hardened, and cynical.

Love you Mr. C. Hope I didn't evoke frustration with my words. Honestly that is a phenomenal question that I should spend some time thinking about and meditating over.

I'll hopefully be at your upcoming show.

What an awesome post. I think that it is very important for us to go through finding out that we at some point realize that we become who we don't know anymore. It is this realization that helps learn to go blind to the world and see with our hearts. A great quote from the band Flyleaf is, "In the hearts of the blind something you'll never find is a vision of light."

Good stuff old friend. I've joined Beeta and your ranks with writing on this topic. It is crucial. We are all so proud of your marathon here. Also I have four frozen pizzas in my freezer and like 3 boxes of Lean Cuisine so come over.

It's nice to know we live under grace and that grace charges us with a responsibility as that of a friend, not a servant.

"Draw me close to you/ never let me go/ I'd lay it all down again/ to hear you say that I'm your friend."

Lay it down, brother. Lay it down, friend.

Alright, so I don't have a website like you - but I just wrote a paper about the parallelism between this crazy book by Terry Pratchett called "Monstrous Regiment" and American Christianity. Thought it was up your alley!

The sad thing is Jesus wasn’t political at all. Sure, his actions had political ramifications, but not once did he use the government or state to accomplish his plans. He never asked governments to develop better poverty bills. Instead, he commanded his followers to feed the poor. Yet, today most Christians have never ventured out into the poor areas of their towns to feed the poor because instead they have voted for a bill that will indirectly benefit “the least of these” (the lie of trickle-down economics!).
We Christians in America are treading on deadly ground. Most of the world sees our ridiculous political and religious actions as hypocritical and foolish. We have traded in the meekness, selflessness, and sacfrice of Jesus for Homeland Secruity, nuclear bombs, and social security. We have abominations, too. Don’t listen to rap music. Don’t touch a homeless person. Don’t talk to a homosexual. Don’t read Harry Potter. How foolish! We have traded in the Gospel of reconciliation and joy for a list of abominations and in turn have diminished and diluted the message of Jesus to another form of patriotism, sectarianism, and hypocrisy. As C.S. Lewis says, “We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered to us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily please."

Isn't it scary when Jesus says that however much we judge, we will be judged? That kind of haunts me.
